Yes to Trading Draft Picks.
I have no suggestions.
Since we've already had several pre-season trades isn't it a bit late to be offering up this rule change? I might have been more inclined to trade for a draft pick than a player, or a combination of draft picks and players. This might be a better idea for 2008.
yes, let there be trades of draft pick. and let there be light!

The truth rings out!
Hey, Gary! Save the complaining for the quilting group!
Is that a No vote?
Besides, Jermaine Dye will become a minister by the All-Star break. Bad trade!
It's a yes vote - for 2008. We don't even know if we can trade a single player for multiple draft picks. Or one high draft pick for two lower ones. Or if we can trade draft picks during the draft. And so on. I think it's an interesting proposition, but with less than a month until draft day to iron out the specifics it seems a little late in the game.
I'd add to my list of questions "can we trade fantasy dollars too?"
Those are good questions!
We would've had an answer for you in the days of yore.... It would seem to me that there is no "actuarial" table governing the matter: get the picks for player(s) and/or pick(s) that you want. Just be sure to draft a full roster, especially a firstbaseman.
I have it on good authority that we can trade players for fantasy dollars, as in the days of yore. I have a feeling something official is forthcoming from parts known.
I should mention for voting purposes that I am an Authorized Representative of The Consummate Bastards.
Yes. This is a good idea.
The Festivus Miracles vote Yes to trading draft picks. Like players and fantasy dollars, draft picks are a valuable commodity. Why not allow a team to better itself by trading draft picks?
Another voice of reason.
No to trading draft picks. Change is bad.
To clarify, I'm no for 2007 and yes for 2008 once the kinks have been worked out.

Eh, still on the DL there, Mr. Roberts, I see.

No to trading draft picks. Change is bad."
See you in 4th place, sucka!
Okay I have another, much more complicated question. Here's the scenario: I trade away a pick for a player. Someone else wants to trade me a player for the player I just acquired from my trade.
Would I be eligible to keep that player outside of my original five keepers? Yes I initially obtained an extra keeper player by trading for a draft pick, but by then trading a player for a player doesn't that revert back to the original rules? And if we do allow that person as a keeper, why not just keep one of your original players in that guy's place?
Here's an example: I trade my first round pick to Chris for Ryan Garko. Alan then approaches me to trade Joe Blanton for Ryan Garko. That leaves me with Joe Blanton but no #1 pick, along with my original staff that includes my five keepers. However, should I be allowed to keep Blanton in addition to my five keepers (a sixth keeper) even though he was traded for a player and not a draft pick? I could have kept Garko to take the place of my #1 pick (at least that's my understanding). Is Blanton now a regular a staff member, or does he become like an ethereal "other" who doesn't have to abide by the five keeper rule? And if I get a sixth keeper by giving up a draft pick, why not just keep John Lackey instead? And what if this is ten trades after the fact - will we trace it all the way back to make sure those ten keepers I now have were all the result of initially trading a pick for a player?
My concern is that we'll have a huge spider web of "well this guy was for a trade so he's not part of my original five so I can keep him too" situations where it'll be a pain to follow.
I know, I'm the real pain here.
I might have gotten ahead of myself.
Do we still always just have five keepers no matter what draft picks we trade? If I give up a first, second, and third round pick for one guy, do I have to include him in my five keepers? Or is he in addition to them since he was for a pick? Let's start with that question.
Wow.
The Bastards have been kind enough to explain to me that no matter what, only 5 keepers. Thanks Consumate.
I feel like Gilda Radner on the old SNL - "Nevermind."
On behalf of Naps:
YES to trading draft picks: prior to the 2007 draft, for players, for other draft picks, combinations thereof, and also during the 2007 draft.
Subsequent to the 2007 draft, YES to trading 2008 draft picks: during the 2007 season, after the 2007, prior to the 2008 season, for players, for other draft picks, for combinations thereof.
