First up, The Naps, er, The Drain Circlers were the most active with two (2) moves: For the league minimum posting fee, they dropped Kinda All-Star demoted closer Brian Fuentes and picked up Mariner CF Adam "Q*Bert" Jones. Upon seeing this one the league page, I was all geared up for a host of Andruw Jones jokes, but this guy is a different A. Jones. He's tearing it up in Trippple-A. Are the Draino's gearing up for the '08 campaign, or are they hoping to get lucky in the second half? Also on his way out is brokedown C Mike Napoli whose ankle hurts. The Drains take Sportsline's advice on Napoli: "Keep him stashed in AL-only leagues and larter gormats until further notice." Despite a subpar year, the Drain is no dummy. They know we play neither in an AL-only league, nor a larter gormat, so out with him. Replacing him will be Twin SP Scott Baker who will start this (shortened) week. Baker's 3-3 with a 5.71 ERA, but he's gotta nice 41-12 K/BB ratio. Only 24% of Sportsline managers agree with the Drain that Baker's worth a roster spot.
The Superlative Illegitimates upped their chances of future success by picking up Justin Upton, CF prospect for the Phoenix team. While prospect Adam Jones is currently the #1 scouted fantasy player, Just Upton is #342. What do the Bastards know that we don't. When did they know it? I give this a
